The rear deck on the kit was another area that I wanted to address and attempt to make more accurate. The four intake vents are flush with the side armor plate on the real tank and the kit's vents are inset from the side. I decided to replace the entire section on both sides and fabricate detailed parts I could easily fasten to the existing deck without too much trouble. Agin, as my first project I did not document too much but below are a few photos of the existing deck before modification.
Rear deck, armored guards for the intake and exhaust vents are drawn and produced as part of the rear deck overhaul. I decided to make the entire assembly as a "bolt on" part that would drop right into the newly mad opening size in the deck sides. The rectangular intake guards are now positioned against the hull sides like the real Panther.
Assembled and painted with it's base coat of dark yellow.
Radio operator and Driver hatches spring assist levers are made functional.
